How to create an audience using the results of a previous campaign
The audience builder has a powerful search tool that allows you to create audiences based on people's answers and actions during previous campaigns. This means you can create highly targeted audiences that increase the impact of your campaigns, allowing you to speak to exactly the members you need and follow up from previous campaigns quickly and effectively.
There are a few ways you can use the search tool to create audiences based on the results of a previous campaign.
Tip: You can use these search criteria to include a group of members or exclude them from your audience. This makes searches very flexible and allow you to take different approaches to building your audience. For example, it may be quicker to exclude everyone who did A than include everyone who did B or C
1. Answers to questions in phone, SMS or WhatsApp campaign
The 'chose an answer' search filter allows you to include or exclude members based on their answers to questions in a SMS, phone or WhatsApp campaign.
Just select the option from the filter drop down, select the campaign the question was included in, the question and the answer you want.
If your question was asked across several campaigns or you want to include or exclude people based on several questions create a group and set the group search logic to ANY.
2. Inclusion or engagement with a previous campaign
There are many search filters that allow you to include or exclude members based on their participation or responses to a previous campaign.
The 'received a call' and 'received a call with outcome' search filters allow you to select people who received a call as part of a phone campaign or who had a specific outcome like they were spoken to, or they were left a message.
There are search filters for people who have received or clicked on and SMS/WhatsApp blast or completed an SMS/WhatsApp survey and there are search filters for people who have received, opened or clicked on a email.
3. Goals
Goals are a great way to create easy searches when you're running lots of campaigns all with the same aim as part of an effort. For example you may be running a ballot GOTV effort that has dozens of phone, SMS, WhatsApp and email campaigns running.
If you have set up an effort with a goal you can use the completed goal search criteria to include or exclude anyone who has completed the goal.
For example the goal for the effort "Ballot GOTV" is " voted" you can use the "completed goal" search criteria to include or exclude everyone who has completed this goal across any of the campaigns within the effort.
